Carry a copy of your prescriptions and a letter from your prescriber giving the generic names of your medicines. Keep medicines correctly labelled in their original pharmacy packaging. NaTHNaC recommends these precautions for travel. For controlled substances or injectable medicines, request the prescriber's note on headed paper.
These are general travel recommendations, not a verified list of Iraqi import requirements. Before departure, check your exact medicine with an Iraqi embassy or consulate. Ask whether it is allowed, whether advance permission is needed, and which documents and quantity limits apply. Include your entry point and any travel in the Kurdistan Region when asking. Check transit-country rules separately.
Do not assume a prescription alone permits a controlled medicine. The International Narcotics Control Board lists Iraq's traveller regulations as not yet provided. We could not verify an Iraq-specific personal-import allowance or permit procedure. That information gap is not permission to import.
Whether a medicine is sold locally is separate from whether you may bring it across the border. Discuss your travel supply with your prescriber before departure.
