Yes, for arrival at airports in Federal Iraq. An approved Iraqi visa is tied to your identity and passport number, not to a specific landing airport. If you hold an approved federal electronic visa from the official Iraqi Electronic Visa Portal, you can enter through Baghdad International Airport, Basra International Airport, or Najaf International Airport. You do not need to submit a new application or pay another fee if you switch your flight between federal airports.
However, airports in the Kurdistan Region follow separate entry rules. A federal visa does not grant automatic entry through Erbil International Airport or Sulaymaniyah International Airport. Regional border control may collect an additional entry processing fee or require a separate regional entry permit. In addition, visas issued exclusively for the Kurdistan Region do not allow entry through federal airports according to the UK Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office.
Edits before submission
While filling out your online application, you can change your travel dates and intended port of entry freely. Review your form carefully before paying the fee, because the system locks your file upon submission.
Changes during processing
You cannot modify application form fields while immigration officers review your file. Changing your flight between federal airports does not interrupt processing, because clearance depends on passport verification. You do not need to inform immigration authorities about switching your federal arrival airport. If officers require updated flight itineraries, the portal marks your status as Additional Information Required, which allows you to upload documents. For questions about your pending file, contact the Directorate of Residency Affairs by phone at +964 772 111 1434 or send an inquiry through the portal. Applicants with consular paper applications should contact the Iraqi embassy handling their file.
