A travel agent cannot check your Iraq visa application status unless that agent submitted the application for you from their agency account. The Iraqi Ministry of Interior does not provide a separate agency portal, third-party tracking system, or representative access to private visa files.
Understand how your application channel determines status access:
- When you submitted your own application. If you applied directly on the official Iraqi Electronic Visa Portal, only you can check your status. A travel agent cannot view your file without your application reference code and passport number. Never send your passport copy, application reference, or payment details to external booking agents or online forums, because third parties cannot access government records or speed up decisions.
- When the travel agency applied on your behalf. If an agency submitted your eVisa application as part of a travel package, the file links to their portal profile and email address. The agency can check the dashboard and receives official notifications. Ask your agent for your official application reference code and status updates. The agency sees the same portal status and cannot accelerate official reviews.
- Official status notices and deadlines. Official updates arrive by email directly from the Directorate of Residency Affairs. The official portal provides no verified processing deadline.
- Support for application problems. If you applied directly and cannot locate your file, contact the Directorate of Residency Affairs through the portal inquiry form or call +964 772 111 1434. For paper applications filed at an embassy, contact that consular section directly.
- Regional jurisdiction. The federal portal covers entry through Baghdad and Basra. Visas for the Kurdistan Region use a separate regional system at visit.gov.krd for Erbil and Sulaymaniyah, and regional permits remain valid only within the Kurdistan Region. Travel agents cannot transfer records between these separate systems.
As a practical suggestion, keep a digital copy of your submission confirmation screen and payment receipt. Do not pay fees to services claiming they can track or expedite government visa processing.
