Start with your own country's foreign ministry website. Open its Iraq embassy or consulate page and use the official emergency contact or enquiry service listed there. Tell the mission your nationality, current city and whether you need urgent help. Do not assume that the nearest mission represents your country.
Check which office covers your location in federal Iraq or the Kurdistan Region. For British nationals, the British Embassy Baghdad and British Consulate General Erbil each link to an official contact service for emergency calls and online enquiries. The Erbil consulate represents the UK in the Kurdistan Region and northern Iraq. Both offices require appointments for public access. For another nationality, check your own government's instructions rather than using these UK services.
Contact the mission before travelling to its premises. Check your government's current Iraq travel advisory too. If you are involved in a serious incident, contact your travel insurer and travel provider as well, as recommended in the FCDO Iraq help guide.
