Credit card acceptance is limited in Iraq. Most transactions are cash-based. International credit cards (Visa, Mastercard) are accepted at some upscale hotels, restaurants, and large shopping centers in Baghdad, Erbil, and other major cities, but it's not guaranteed. ATMs in major cities may accept foreign cards, but availability is inconsistent. It's highly recommended to carry sufficient cash (US Dollars and Iraqi Dinars) for your trip.
