Yes. You must pay the government visa fee again whenever you submit a new application for an Iraq visa. Visa application fees are non-refundable and cover the processing of one individual submission. Iraqi authorities do not transfer, credit, or roll over payments from an earlier application to a new file, even if your previous application was refused, expired, or cancelled due to clerical errors.
Managing edits across application stages
- Edits before submission. Review your personal data, passport numbers, and uploaded files carefully before you pay. The online system allows free corrections during data entry. Once you confirm payment and submit the form, the system locks your file and fees cannot be refunded.
- Changes during processing. You cannot change form fields while immigration officers review your file. If officers require clearer documents, your status changes to Additional Information Required. You can upload the requested files through the portal without paying a new fee. If you notice an error yourself while your application is under review, alert the consular section of the handling embassy or residency officials directly.
- Errors after visa issue. Authorities cannot edit an electronic visa once issued. If an approved visa contains biographical errors, you cannot use it to travel. The UK Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office notes that airlines deny boarding and border officers refuse entry when travel documents are invalid or mismatched. Correcting an issued visa requires a brand-new application and paying the full fee again.
