To keep proof of submitting and paying for your Iraq visa, save your application reference code, export a copy of the submission confirmation screen, keep your automated email receipt, and record your card payment transaction.
Follow these practical steps to secure your submission and payment records:
- Save the confirmation screen. As a practical suggestion, take a screenshot or print the confirmation screen to a PDF file when you submit your application on the official Iraqi Electronic Visa Portal. Make sure your record clearly shows your application reference code and submission date.
- Store the confirmation email. The portal sends an automated notification with your reference number to your registered email address. Keep this message in a travel folder. If you do not see it in your inbox, check your spam or junk folder.
- Keep your payment receipt and bank record. Save the payment confirmation receipt displayed after checkout. Keep your credit card or bank statement that displays the transaction date, merchant name, and debited fee. Do not use your bank payment transaction identifier in place of your visa reference code, because the visa tracking tool only accepts the official application reference code.
- Check your account dashboard. Sign in to your portal account to confirm that your application appears in your account overview. If you applied for travel limited to the Kurdistan Region through visit.gov.krd, check that regional dashboard instead. Federal Iraq and Kurdistan operate separate visa databases.
- A payment receipt is not a visa. A submitted application or payment receipt does not permit entry into Iraq and does not allow flight boarding. Airlines and Iraqi border control require an approved visa document. Wait for official approval and print your approved visa before traveling.
- Support channels and privacy. The official portal provides no verified processing deadline. Public travel guides and automated assistants cannot view private consular files. If you need help with your application, contact the Directorate of Residency Affairs through the portal or by phone at +964 772 111 1434. Never share your passport copy or payment receipt on public forums.
