To apply for an Iraq tourist eVisa on the official Iraqi Electronic Visa Portal, you need two primary upload files and an online payment method. You also need supporting travel documents for airline check-in and border control.
Mandatory documents for the online application
-
Valid passport. You must upload a clear color copy of your passport biographical page. The passport must remain valid for at least six months from your arrival date and contain at least one blank page, as confirmed by the Iraqi Embassy in Washington, D.C. and the UK Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office.
-
Digital personal photograph. You must upload a recent passport-style color photo taken against a plain white background.
-
Payment card. You need an electronic payment card to pay the government visa fee online through the portal.
Supporting travel documents
- Return or onward flight ticket. Airlines check for a confirmed return ticket or proof of onward travel before departure. Airlines can deny boarding without it.
- Accommodation details. Keep your hotel booking or local host address ready.
- Printed eVisa. The portal sends your approved visa by email. Print a paper copy to show airline staff and border officers on arrival.
Follow the form instructions on the screen. Do not guess values for optional fields. As a practical tip, save a screenshot of your payment receipt and application reference number. The official portal covers Federal Iraq. Diplomatic missions such as the Iraqi Embassy in London direct foreign passport holders to it. Travel limited to the Kurdistan Region requires the separate regional portal.
