If you entered the wrong passport number, you cannot travel using that visa. Your visa details must match your physical passport exactly. Airlines deny boarding and border officers refuse entry when passport numbers do not match. The required action depends on your application status.
Edits before submission
If you have not paid or submitted the form, edit the passport number directly. Check every letter and number against the machine-readable zone at the bottom of your passport photo page. Include all letters and leading zeros. The official Iraqi Electronic Visa Portal locks the form after payment, so verify your entries before you submit.
Changes during processing
You cannot edit submitted form fields on the portal while immigration officers review your file. If officers find an error between your typed number and your passport scan, they may mark your file as Additional Information Required. You can then upload requested corrections through the portal. If your application is still pending and you notice the error yourself, call the Directorate of Residency Affairs at +964 772 111 1434 or send a message through the portal contact form. For paper applications, contact the Iraqi embassy handling your file.
Errors after visa issue
Immigration officers cannot amend an approved electronic visa after issue. You cannot use an issued visa with an incorrect passport number. If your approved visa has the wrong number, do not attempt to travel with it.
