Try Souq Al-Safafeer, also called Al-Safarin, off Al-Rasheed Street in Baghdad. The UN documented coppersmiths working there in 2022, making items such as coffee pots and trays. The Designed in Iraq project describes shops selling copper products in the market.
Ask a seller who made a piece and where it was made. If you want to buy directly from its maker, ask whether the craftsperson made the item and is selling it themselves. The sources do not verify which individual workshops are open now, their hours or current stock. Check locally before making a special trip. Ask permission before photographing a craftsperson or their work.
