Two prominent restored churches welcome visitors in Mosul's Old City. The late 19th-century Syriac Catholic Church of the Immaculate Conception (Al-Tahera) in the Christian quarter features alabaster arches, carved marble reliefs, and an open central courtyard as an active place of worship. The Convent of Our Lady of the Hour (Al-Saa'a Church), built in the 1870s, features a fully repaired four-faced clock tower, restored bells, and a cloister hosting community workshops and exhibitions.
