Stay on designated paths, leave remains untouched and follow site staff's instructions. Mudbrick and exposed archaeological remains are fragile.
- Do not climb unrestored walls or walk over exposed foundations or excavations.
- Leave pottery fragments and other finds where they are. Tell a site guardian if you notice an exposed find.
- Do not touch inscriptions or rest bags or equipment on ancient masonry. Take your litter away.
- Before visiting, check access and any permission needed for your planned activity with the site staff. If booking a guide, check their credentials. Ask staff before using photographic equipment or entering an excavation. Current access and permissions depend on the site; this guidance does not confirm that a particular site is open.
