Rebuilt between 1876 and 1881 in the center of the old town, Mar Mikha Church is dedicated to Saint Micah, a 4th-century disciple of Mar Awgin who introduced Syrian coenobitic monasticism to the region. The stone sanctuary features a Royal Gate carved from gray-green Mosul marble, Syriac inscriptions marking relics and burial jars, and an adjacent historic parish school completed in 1923.
