You do not need translated documents when you apply for a standard tourist eVisa.
The official application on the Iraqi Electronic Visa Portal requires only two uploads: a clear color scan of your valid passport biographical page and a digital personal photograph on a white background. Standard passports already include text in English or French alongside the national language, so no translation is required for the online tourist application.
Supporting travel documents
Standard supporting travel items do not need translation if they are in English or Arabic. Border officials and airlines accept flight bookings and hotel reservations in English. You must carry a printed copy of your approved eVisa and proof of onward or return travel.
Embassy and special visa applications
If you apply through an embassy rather than the eVisa portal, requirements differ:
- Non-tourist visas. Applications for employment, residency, or official visits submitted to diplomatic missions such as the Embassy of the Republic of Iraq in Washington, D.C. require formal supporting files.
- Civil records. Civil documents such as foreign marriage certificates submitted to an embassy must be authenticated by official state authorities.
- Consular guidelines. Always verify requirements with the specific consular section before you pay for translation services.
